You just NEVER know when Success is Knocking!!

After my last blog about being prepared to take advantage of your opportunities, its crazy how things all of a sudden fall into place and you achieve results that you have always known you are capable of.
For me, success is seeing my clients achieve their dreams and win tournaments at the highest level and for me over the past few months, has been without a doubt my career high in regards to seeing my clients achieve great results.
Having a client such as Tim Hewitt, a trainnee golf professional from Melbourne turn his form around instantly and begin to play the golf he knows he was capable of after just one session, or whether it is Stacey Keating having her first Top 10  as a Pro on The Ladies European Tour, give me a great sense of satisfaction and reward for all the long hours I have put into researching the human mind.
The journey that players go through in the process of trying to achieve their dreams, is extremely emotional and at times, very difficult to cope with. Having periods where their performance is less than satisfactory can be extremely debilitating and begin to have an impact on their belief systems, which is a key area that I always try and focus on making sure my clients always have a healthy beleif system no matter what results they are currently experiencing.
This was a crucial component in Bryden Macpherson winning the British Amateur as since being on scholarship to the University of Georgia, Bryden's results had lived up to his own expectations. Being able to stay focused and believe he is doing all the right things, so that when his game clicked and he had an opportunity to Win, his belief system would help support his performance and just let himself play golf.
The same exact situation arose for my wife Jackie, who is a professional poker player. Over the past 5 weeks we have been in the US and in Vegas preparing for the World Series of Poker Main Event, which for her means playing alot of lead up tournaments at the World Series and the Venetian Deepstack. The first few weeks consisted of a lot of close calls and failed attempts to make the money. Jackie made a lot of day 2's, which can really add to the frustration if you dont go deep into the money. Jackie started the series 0/5 in cashes and was starting to feel frustrated and tired, but her focus and ability to get back on the horse rewarded her with her career best result up until now.
Jackie had a few min cashes in back to back events before she made the final table of the $1K event at the Venetian Deepstack. Jackie entered the FT 6/8 and short in chips, but was focused on just playing the best she can and ready to take advantage of any opportunity that might have come her way.
Well, what an opportunity that was presented to her!!!
Jackie doubled early with QQ Vs AK and then from then on, got a great run of cards and won some flips, and even won some 30/70s:)
She got to heads up playwith stacks almost even at $2.4 Million Vs $2.3 Million. Jackie's opponent asked her if she wanted to do some kind of deal where they might split the money, but as Jackie felt she was the better player, there would be No Deal!!
Jackie went on to dominate heads up play and and ended up winning the tournament, with $72,000 USD but more importantly the trophy as Champion of the $1K Venetian Deepstack Event!!
Days like that are what makes all the hard work, the tough times and the belief in yourself worth while, as there is no better vaildation to following your dreams than having a healthy belief system, and the occasional win also helps;)

Keep Believing as your WIN could be just around the corner!!!
