Its the Sunday before the week of the Masters begins and we had a great day or prep over the weekend. Bryden and I went out to Augusta on Saturday and played 27 holes, we thought getting out on the course was an important addition to our preperation. Bryden felt that the week we spent in Atlanta had become a little too mechanical with his swing and needed to play more. We headed out Saturday with a little more of a "F*#K It" attitude and it showed in his ball striking. He hit the ball great all day and needs to just fine tune his speed control on the greens, which will not be an issue.
We drove from Atlanta Sunday morning and have now moved into the house in Nth Augusta and headed out to the golf course to play and practise.
We got to the course and rocked up to the 1st tee to find ourselves playing with WebbSimpson. Webb was a really nice guy, super relaxed and talkative to both Bryden and I together with his coack Teddy and caddie Paul.
Webb's coach Teddy had a pretty cool story to tell about the fact that he was assistant pro at Augusta National from 1985-1993 where he took Webb as a 12yr old player. Teddy went on to move to Nth Carolina for a teaching position and became Webb's coach on a more consistant basis. Today they were walking the fairways of Augusta as coach and player, a similar story to Bryden and I having a long term coaching relationship.
The magnitude of this situation wasnt lost on Webb, after all he has achieved and played in his career to date, he was truly psyched to be at Augusta with his coach.
After the 9 hole practise round, we went off and worked on some short game and putting before Bryden headed off to collect his Mercedes for the week, something he was looking forward to all day.
So tomorrow is the beginning of Master's week and we are tolf the crowds are crazy and the atmosphere like no other week, so we are looking forward to getting into it and be a part of such magic!.
I will try and keep you informed each day of our progress and happenings during the greatest event on the golfing calender.
