Over the past 10 years of being a mental conditioning coach, I have found that the obstacles of success are similar no matter what industry you are in. Whether you are a golfer, poker player, tennis player or are in business, obstacles are always going to present themselves. Whether people choose to let these obstacles get in the way of their success or find a way to work through them, depends upon a variety of different components. One component I have found that makes an incredible difference in helping people go on and achieve success, is their resilience when it comes to finding a solution to their problem and moving forward with the motivation and belief that success is just around the corner.
I am no different!!
Over the past 10 years I have been in the process of building a brand that is there to help inform people of specifically what aspects of the mind they need to focus on to help them achieve success. Over that 10 years, I have found myself on numerous occasion's have to sit back and take the advise I have been giving to my clients. Just because I know what to do, at times I find I put the importance of my own processes on the back burner and that is a component of myself that I have decided in 2011 I am going to improve.
Building a nationally recognised brand that provide's this type of information is extremely challenging, as finding a platform and avenue to deliver the message to relate to the target market has been tough. Obviously there has been many obstacles in the way over the past 10 years and I have dealt with these in a fairly empowering way, learning from the situation and making the neceassary changes to ensure I stay focused and motivated to continue to believe in my vision for the brand. Looking back, I have obviously made many mistakes along the way but I feel that each mistake has taught me a great lesson that I feel will be invaluable to me in the future.
Some of my decisions over the past few years have actually taken me away from the most important reason I chose to create Dare2Dream, but as of today I feel that I have the clarity, knowledge and understanding from all the past mistakes, decisions and experiences I have been through that will help re-ignite the passion and motivation for me to focus completely on making Dare2Dream a nationally, if not internationally recognised brand in the future which will be there to provide information to help people become the very best they can be, both in their chosen field and life itself.
Over the past few weeks, I have been sitting back and looking at the obstacles in front of myself and Dare2Dream. I have been trying to detach myself from the situation and look at things objectively, although that can be very difficult when you are attached emotionally to the situation, but when you can achieve that objective outlook, you experience an amazing sense of clarity for the situation that you feel a sense of KNOWING that you WILL succeed once you focus on making these changes.
As human's, doubt is one of the most damaging emotional states we can experience as it sap's our body of all of it's energy and places us in a state of fear about what MIGHT happen. Taking an objective look at things really helps you to see what need's to be done to overcome these obstacles, then it just become's a matter of whether you really want to put in the hard work to achieve those results.
I have decided that on a monthly basis, I am going to objectively take a look at what I have been doing in the previous month and to be aware of the current obstacles that maybe present in regards to my success, so that I am consistently making necessary adjustments and am always aware of what is happening, as well as what I need to implement to ensure I stay on track. I recommend the same process for anyone that is wanting to achieve success in any aspect of their life, whether it is professional or personal as I am sure you will find that you feel that you are moving forward on a weekly basis and the sense of moving forward, will place you in a state of optimism and belief that you WILL achieve your goals in the future.
As I once read, SUCCESS IS A PROCESS, NOT A DESTINATION!
If you can stay focused on the process, you give yourself the best possible chance to finish in a place you have only dreamt of, as well as enjoying the journey along the way!
Time for me to now go and define my process, what about you??
