Stocktake Completed!! Bring on 2012!!

I havent been blogging much the past few months, actually I havent blogged at all and there is a great explanation for this, I promise:)
Over the past 4-6 months, I have been busy planning a new website launch and brand direction for Dare2Dream. Its not a totally new brand direction, just in the way I deliver my content to be able to reach a wider audience and have Dare2Dream help educate and inspire as many people as possible.
In this time I knew I had to become as productive as possible, but more important I had to be functioning at the highest of levels otherwise what I am about to launch in 2012 will be less than my best.
I began to make a conscious decision of clearing all the things in my life that I felt were not going to help me perform at my best, but at the same time, add things into my life that were going to help me achieve a higher quality of living.
What this exercise did for me was firstly, made me aware of how much time I wasted on useless, unproductive things that I was just doing without really being conscious to the wasted time and effort I was putting into these things.
Now there werent that many things, but when I did a stocktake of what I was spending my time on and what I was getting back in return, there was a massive difference that I surely wasnt happy with!
Doing a stocktake on your life and what you spend your time on gives you some great clarity in regards to what areas of your life you need to focus on and what areas you need to eliminate.
And I found a few I was happy to eliminate!!
I began by looking at what I wanted in my life personally and professionally and this is where I began to make a plan of attack to help me achieve my goals for 2012, as I am making this year the year that I create unbreakable positive momentum that I will take with me for the rest of my days, no matter what happens to me!!
Fitness, flexibility, strength, health, emotional happiness, calm clear mind, motivation, inspiration, love, respect, acceptance, control, freedom, joy, simplicity where just a few words I had on my wish list for 2012 and I then begun to create a plan that would achieve these things. I begun with what things would I need to do today that would help me move closer to achieiving all of the above states. Some of these things were eliminating certain behavours and others were adding in new behavours and sitting here now just a few days before the start of 2012, I can say I am as happy, motivated, inspired and balanced as ever heading into a new year.
But is it really a New Year or just another day to follow your list of processes that you know help you live a fulfilled life. New diets or exercise plans generally dont last long in new years reolutions because we dont rerally have a long term outlook, these aspects should be a way of life, not just a plan to shed a few kgs, as when you shed those few kgs, you go back to old behavours.
My New Years resolution was to create a plan that I can sustain each week for the first 6 weeks of the year. Knowing that if I can stick to my plan for the first 6 weeks, I would have created such a positive momentum that I will find almost imposssible to break, as the feeling this way of life will give me, there is NO way in the world I would want to stop!
I have too much love and respect for myself to stop empowering behavoural patterns that I have consciously built, I mean why would I??
One thing I have really enjoyed over the past few months is getting back to playing the game of golf. I joined a club in Melbourne, Latrobe GC which is a beautiful tree lined parkstyle course that is always in great condition and have now just begun to have some lessons with a client of mine and the Latrobe GC Trainee Pro, Toby Wilcox. As I thought after not having a lesson for nearly 13 years, there would be some things out of whack, and I was right! Toby worked on my set up, posture and grip yesterday in our first full swing lesson and I am looking forward to playing in  my first comp with some of the new changes. My back has trouble feeling great in my new set up, but there adds a new process to my wishlist for 2012.
I had a great time a few weeks back caddying for a client of mine at the Australian Masters golf tournament in Melbourne. Bryden Macpherson and I have been working together for nearly 7 years and he had his biggest win of his young career at the 2011 British Amateur in July. This win got him a start in the 2011 British Open as well as the 2012 US Masters. We thought me caddying for him would be a great way to take a closer look at the areas we needed to focus on in preperation for next year. We had a great week from every aspect, as we found some really important areas to focus on, as we fine tuned these areas through out the week and got some good results in the end with Bryden making the cut and shooting a -4 67 in the final round for to be equal 2nd best score of the day in tough conditions. Bryden also won the low amateur that week.

I look forward to blogging my thoughts and updates once a week from now on and hope that everyone had a great Xmas and is ready to create their own ubreakable positive momentum in 2012. 2011 was a great year for myself and my Dare2Dream athletes with many of them having their best year so far, both on and off the sporting fields and I am really excited to share with you my new plan for Dare2Dream in 2012.

Keep your eyes and ears open for more in the next few months!!:)

Here is a  little song to get you psyched for 2012 from my all time favorite band Foo Fighters and remember- YOU ARE WORTH IT!!
